Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL) is an India-based company engaged in producing soda ash. It is also a manufacturer of urea and phosphatic fertilizers. TCL operates in two segments: Inorganic Chemicals and Fertilizers. Chemicals business includes products, such as soda ash, salt, marine chemicals, caustic soda, cement and bulk chemicals. The Fertilizer business of the Company comprises urea, phosphatic fertilizers and other agricultural inputs. In January 2007, TCL formed a 50:50 joint venture company in India with Total Produce Plc. Total Produce is a fresh produce company. The joint venture is registered in India as Khet-se Agriproduce India Private Limited. In March 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of General Chemical Industrial Products Inc. In November 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of 35% stake in JOil Pte.
